“Will you be finished by the end of today? tomorrow? perhaps Friday?”
Nope, I didn’t forget any capitalization. It’s actually okay to use lowercase letters in a series of short questions.
If I encountered a series of short questions while working on a copyedit and the author did have those words capitalized, it’s not something I’d change, especially considering I primarily work in fiction. It’s not wrong to capitalize them. Lowercasing them is just a style choice.
Next time you write a series of short questions, you can show off a bit by leaving out those capital letters (though you’ll probably have to fight autocorrect).
