I was recently calculating how much editing income I brought in for 2022 (because those darn quarterly estimated taxes were due), and it turns out that in the fourth quarter alone I earned more than I did in all of 2021. It’s truly encouraging to see my business grow in the way it has. I’m proud to be offering a valuable service to writers; when I see the same ones coming back to me for more editing work, it’s icing on the proverbial cake, confirmation that I’m doing something right. I realize it’s unreasonable to expect this kind of growth each year, but I’ll be happy with at least a modicum of annual growth.
