I’m lucky enough to work on lots of wonderful manuscripts that delight me, but occasionally I get something that transcends pure entertainment, which is what happened when I edited Broken Chocolate by Rachel Miranda.
I don’t want to give too much of the plot away, but Broken Chocolate is a deeply moving narrative about a close-knit family shaken by tragedy. Watching how each family member overcomes this challenge touched me in a way few books have. There’s one scene that especially bowled over my heart each time I encountered it on an editing pass. This book may make you cry, but it’s one I can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for an emotional read.
