April Update and Why Books Are My Favorite

I haven’t had much time to post lately due to being swamped with work. But that’s a good problem to have, and I’m grateful for it.

Since finishing up work on the novel that took me most of March, I’ve since had lots of small projects to keep me busy. But bigger ones are already falling onto my desk.

Just yesterday I began copyediting another novel. This particular client has more in the pipeline, I’ve got two other novels all but promised to me, and I’m also currently pursuing another opportunity for consistent work that I hope to lock down soon. I’m over the moon ^_^

With the wide variety of editing work that I take on these days, I’ve come to realize that full-length fiction novels are my favorite to work on. Similar to investing a lot of time in reading a big book, I love sitting with a sizeable manuscript for what often turns into a month. There’s nothing like losing yourself in a new world, and the longer you’re there the better you get to know its intricacies and characters. I also love gradually building a style sheet for my clients. And the best part is knowing that I’m only there to improve readers’ experiences. It’s endlessly rewarding.
